Setting Expectations Has Changed My Business

Setting expectations has changed my business. Here’s how:

One year ago, our clients thought we'd completely change their business within 30 days of starting with us. That was unrealistic for them to expect. But, it was MY fault for not knowing to set expectations with them upfront. Meaning...

• If you tell people to expect fast results, they’ll expect fast results.

• If you tell people to expect slow results, they’ll expect slow results.

So, if you want to build a sustainable & lasting business, let your people know it’ll take “x” amount of time to generate “y” results based on previous averages.

It’s much better to set expectations low and provide better-than-expected results rather than set expectations high and provide below-average results.
